Hecate is the Greek goddess of witches and witchcraft, and represents both the eternal victim and her eventual retribution. Trivia is the Roman equivalent, and her name in Latin literally translates to “three roads.” It’s fitting that the show stages its opening and closing centerpiece at the American icon-themed Trivia Night, complete with men dressed as Elvis Presleys, women as Audrey Hepburns. The “three roads” suggest the coming cathartic break from the status quo in Perry’s communal slaying. It marks the opening of a new unforeseen path at the hands of Monterey’s makeshift coven of would-be witches.
