The majestic silver fox is actually a red fox with melanism. Some specimens are almost completely black, while others range in coloration from light to dark grey. You can get a permit to own a silver fox if it has been bred and raised in a specialized center, but owning one that was caught in the wild is illegal. The permit will cost around $650-$850. Although silver foxes have been domesticated, they are still wild animals that cannot be confined inside.
