19. Vulcan Eruption
A Vulcan located in the Aegan Island of Thera erupted during the mid-second millennium BCE. The eruption is believed to have had the destructive force of 40 atomic bombs exploding at the same time! As you can imagine, the eruption almost wiped off humankind from the face of the Earth.
