The Mount Washington Hotel in New Hampshire is said to be haunted by the widow of the architect Joseph Stickney, Carolyn. Staff and guests of the hotel have reported seeing the apparition of a woman matching Carolyn’s description. She goes about her day as if she’s still alive, brushing her hair at the foot of her bed in room 314, looking over the balcony or descending the stairs for dinner.
