Ever since the 19th century, the spirit of a Cherokee man has been seen walking into the woods from the springs surrounding them. Hot springs had plenty of potential, but many people figure the Cherokee man is the reason both hotels went up in flames. The ghost of the Cherokee man keeps an eye on visitors and a few hot tub soakers have reported seeing him slip into the tub beside them.
