Winchester Mystery House, California
A psychic told Sarah Winchester, the widow of the infamous rifle-making magnate, that her husband and child were killed by the ghosts of those who died at the hands of Winchester rifles. So, to keep the angry spirits at bay, she ordered the construction of the Victorian home. Today, that home has become a mystery house full of creepy passages and staircases that are said to remain haunted to this day.
