The Devil’s Tree, New Jersey
The Devil’s Tree is a lone oak tree with half-dead limbs in a field on Mountain Road. Although it has a ton of axe marks on its thick but withered trunk, legend says that anyone who hurts the tree will lose their life at the hands of a terrible curse. It’s also rumored to be the site of a gateway to hell itself, hence the name.
