The Red Onion Saloon was originally a brothel for miners back in 1898. They used 10 dolls that represented the women working upstairs. If a doll was laid down on the bar, it meant she was busy. Today, the saloon acts as a restaurant and bar and the dolls remain as part of this brothel museum’s décor. But people claim to this day that a former madam named Lydia haunts the halls. Guests even report smelling her perfume!
