Enjoying The Pre-War Times
The first year of living in the elitist apartment was one to remember. Madame de Florian and her son Henri had a good income and were able to pay for the bills and apartment maintenance. Unfortunately, the period of enjoyment ended in 1940.
As you know, WWII started in 1939. Soon after, France was attacked and occupied by the Nazi army. It resulted in thousands of Parisians and millions of French citizens moving to the free zone at the southern border.
