The German attack was swift and didn’t leave a lot of time for anyone to figure out a good plan. The same goes for Henri and Madame de Florian, who left the apartment and all of the assets behind. In the end, their only goal was to make it out of Paris alive.

According to numerous reports, they both lived in South France for the rest of their years. Neither Henri nor his daughter returned to the apartment, even after the war was over. Still, this doesn’t mean that the ownership was changed.
