Where Was The Apartment?
Much like for Henri I, no one knew who is the father of Henri II. Marthe was happy mothering her child on her own. In the end, her income and the beautiful apartment that they lived in allowed her to do so.
The apartment that she moved to from her birthplace was located in the 9th arrondissement. Believe it or not, it is quite close to the elitist house that her parents lived in and at which she was born. Who knows, maybe she chose this location on purpose, to always resemble the early years of her life.
