A few weeks after coming into his care, the squirrel finally opened its eyes and looked around. The first thing the squirrel ever saw was Allen’s face. Whether it be imprinting or love at first sight, the little squirrel had no fear when it saw its human caretaker. Allen realized that it was time to give the little guy a name. While he used several pet names for the squirrel such as Squirellito and Squiggidy-Boo, Allen finally decided to name the squirrel after the cartoon squirrel from “Rocky & Bullwinkle.” And so its name became Rocky. Allen admits that not all the names the squirrel got called were as cute, however.
