Gentle Predatory Giant
Few people know that the first choice for the role of 1987s Predator was actually Jean-Claude Van Damme. However, after he dropped out of the project, the directors needed to find someone knew. Fortunately, they discovered 7’4” actor, Kevin Peter Hall.
Few people could tower over Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, Hall called his acting “grunt roles”. That’s because most of his performance consisted of growling and grunting. Over all, Hall fondly recalls his time as the titular Predator. “I’m bigger than life and so, in a way, I’m part of the fantasy/science fiction/horror genre,” he stated.
