Unrecognizable

In 2009 Eric Bana played the character Nero in the film Star Trek. To prepare for his role, the Australian actor had to spend three hours a day trapped in a chair to apply his makeup. On the first day of filming, Bana’s agent visited the set and didn’t even recognize his own client.
Bana, however, enjoyed playing the character. “Those opportunities in Hollywood are so rare,” he told The Sydney Morning Herald. The make process made his facial expressions unrecognizable, meaning he had to adapt his acting to the costume.
