Even though General Eisenhower is one of the best leaders in WW2, he started on the wrong foot. There were many logistical issues, the English-American military didn’t cooperate efficiently, and his lead in combat operations ended in failures. Field Marshal Alan Brooke said at that time that Ike was a “Nice chap, no general.”
