6. Pointe du Hoc
Before the D-Day, American troops arrived at the Pointe du Hoc in Normandy. The mission was to capture and stop the guns from firing on the Utah and Omaha Beaches. However, the rangers were delayed by German defenses and in the meanwhile, the guns on the steep cliff were moved.
