46. Mercedes Lander
In 1996, Mercedes Lander made a name for herself as drummer and singer of Canadian metal band Kittie. While the band is still going strong, it has been put on hold for a while so that some of its members could pursue other things.
Lander took that time to obtain her real estate license and has since made quiet the career out of being an investor. Her strategy is much like that of fellow star-turned -real-estate-investor Vanilla Ice: she finds houses that have potential, gets them into top shape, and then sells them for as much as she can get. The majority of her real estate work takes place in London, Ontario.
