8. Tony Danza
Tony Danza is not only a well-known actor but also a professional boxer. However, boxing was not the normal career he became known for. Danza stopped acting for a year to teach 10th grade English at a school in Philadelphia. This was filmed for a reality show called Teach: Tony Danza that aired on A&E.
The experience of being an English teacher for a year made Danza quite a vocal spokesman for educators and the problems with the education system. He had some harsh words for the general public and has worked hard to create awareness around the troubled state of the education system.
