Into The Creek
Austin began to kick at the sandy bottom in hopes of finding his stepfather’s spectacles. Hubert rushed to his side, and together they began to wade through the creek. But Hubert, nearly blind without his spectacles, slowly and unknowingly began to move away from Austin, who headed in the opposite direction. It was a moment that Hubert says he would regret forever.
