Pearl Harbor: Bare Legged Faux Pas

When you make a period based movie, every little detail counts. Getting everything right is the difference between completely immersing your entire audience completely and losing sharp-eyed viewers. Critics have heavily panned Pearl Harbour for being filled with inaccuracies. However, one small fashion detail may have slipped past most people. Set during World War II, the Pearl Harbour attack happened in 1941. During that period there were some fairly strict dress codes that women would have been adhering to. In this scene, women are showing their support, as well as their bare legs. Women, would not have had bare legs, they would either have worn stockings or at the very least, they would have drawn a line on the back of their legs to make it look like they were. This was done due to the scarcity of nylon at the time.
