Pride and Prejudice

Focus Features via IMDb

Based on the Jane Austen novel of the same name, 2005’s Pride and Prejudice is a wonderful film which, while it took some creative license with the original novel, was also unable to escape the prevalence of historical inaccuracy. In the film, Keira Kightley (playing Lizzie) wears a fashionable pair of rubber boots. That kind of boot was only invented in 1852, 35 years after the actual setting of the book which takes place in 1817. Fortunately, the long dresses that she wears hides them for the most part.
