Back to the Future: Instrument Of The Future

A line that one often hears people say is “Great movie, but–that did not exist back then!” A movie that sadly needs this line applied to it as well, is the 1985 classic Back To The Future. Not only could no one else have played “Johnny B. Goode” the way that Michael J Fox’s character, Marty McFly, did. Technically, even Marty McFly couldn’t play it. The reason is that the Gibson ES-345 that he plays would only be created in 1958, three years after the scene which takes place during 1955.
