Alaska is vast, and it’s not connected to the mainland. The state is also far north, making living harder. If you gather the entire population in Alaska, you could cram it in the Seattle metro area and still have some room left. There are 1.3 people per square mile, and the caribou population is much bigger compared to the human population!
