Clowning Around
In 2016 there was an unexplained spike in the number of reported clown sightings across the United States and Canada. During that time, a drone in Huntsville, Alabama captured this terrifying image of a clown in a field. Some people think that this was no chance photo and was, in fact, staged, but it is creepy nonetheless. Many people have been concerned that the clown trend will spread beyond the US and there have been numerous sightings of similar creepy clowns all over the world, though not nearly as many. Some people think that these sightings might have been pranks or part of a secret marketing campaign for the 2017 movie IT. The phenomenon became so huge that even McDonalds has said that, at least for the foreseeable future, their clown mascot won’t be used.
