Some of the best film franchises actually stem from videogames, like the movie Tomb Raider, where Angelina Jolie portrayed Lara Croft. Even so, some video game based movies are not as successful. Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time had Jake Gyllenhaal act as the Prince, a very famous character from one of the most beloved videogame franchises. Gyllenhaal carried the movie with his performance, but even so, the plot was terrible and received appropriate reviews.
