Over 20,000 acres had already been destroyed by the fire and Chavez was starting to have a terrible suspicion that the fires had been cases of arson. Even though it’s not usually intentional, it’s a sad fact that the biggest cause of wildfires is usually people. It shocked Chavez to think that he had just found evidence that these fires were the cause of deliberate arson.
