One of the coolest history facts is directly tied to the current US flag. The flag was designed by a 17-year-old boy named Robert G. Heft who got a B- minus from his professor because he disliked the design. The young man wrote to the White House 21 times until President Eisenhower decided to use Robert G. Heft’s design as the official flag.
