The civil rights leader was famous for his speech, “I Have a Dream,” which spoke of freedom for people of all races. But on April 4, 1968, he was shot and killed in his hotel in Memphis, Tennessee. He had an open-casket funeral and was mourned by thousands. But his words live on in our hearts.
