She was invited to play for the U-17
In 2010, Carson received an invitation to try out for the U-17 national team. To be eligible for the U-17 team, you have to be a soccer player under the age of 17 who identifies as a woman. While Carson did her best at the tryout, she ultimately did not make the team, but that did not stop her from pursuing her goals.
