Mark opened the door an inch and asked Brenda what the problem was. She told Mark she had to see what animal was causing such distress to her own animals and a general disturbance. He shrugged and said it was just a kitten and that she would have to give him time to prepare for an apartment inspection – she was the landlady after all.
