Our Planet Is Not Named After a God
Notice how Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Mercury and the rest of the planets in our solar system are named after ancient Gods? Earth is apparently not one of them, and it’s been said that the name is an amalgamation of Old English and Old Germanic words that mean “ground.”
