The Yamashita Treasure, a Legend
According to the anthropologist Piers Kelly, the Yamashita Treasure has been a tale among the Philippines, but there was no proof. It was only a rumor, he added:
“Since at least the 19th century Filipino storytellers have shared tales of hidden valuables such as gold, church bells, silver coins, and fine tableware.”
