Russia Sold Alaska
Although back in 1867 Russians found gold in Alaska, the high salaries demanded by officials and other financial issues, Russia struck a deal with the U.S. to sell the territory to the U.S. The U.S. bought it for $7.2 million, and so far, America made more than $700 million since Alaska became part of their territory.
