Sony Acquired Columbia Pictures
Sony acquired Columbia Pictures in 1989 for $3.4 billion. Years later, they deeply regretted it. Sony even announced in 1994 that they couldn’t make back the investment, and by that time, they already had a loss of $3 billion. Today, we thing Sony is a bit more happy about their purchase, since there were some successful movies, such as Skyfall, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Men in Black 3.
