NASA Loses Mars Climate Orbiter

NASA launched the Mars Climate Orbiter in 1998, but it never reached its goal because of a miscommunication. The problem was that NASA had two teams working on this project, one worked in metric units and the other in imperial units. As they tried to send the orbiter to the red planet’s orbit, the failure of communication because of different units cost NASA $193.1 million. The orbiter is still lost in space!
