7. The Dinosaur Evolutionary Tree Issue

In time, with more information on dinosaurs, the dinosaurs’ basic evolutionary tree had to be drastically changed, although it was used for more than 100 years! A 2017 study of dozens of dino species written by paleontologist Matthew Baron shows that Theropods are in the same group with Ornithischians, under Ornithoscelidans. This means, for instance, that the T. Rex was more related with the Triceratops, and less related with the Apatosaurus.
