14. The Brontosaurus: Was It a Real Species?

In The Flintstones, we saw the Brontosaurus, but for years paleontologists said this species didn’t exist. It was first mentioned in a competition called ‘Bone Wars’ when a paleontologist believed that the skeleton of an Apatosaurus was one of a Brontosaurus. In 2015, a team of researchers found some huge differences between the Apatosaurus and the Brontosaurus specimens, so the Brontosaurus species is now finally a recognized species.
What didn’t really exist was the Triceratops!
