13. Why Doesn’t the Triceratops Exist?

We can all agree that this dino looks great, and when in 2010 a study revealed that this species didn’t exist, it broke the internet. But here’s a more in-depth explanation: researchers discovered that the Triceratops specimens previously uncovered were young Torasauruses, and not a different species. So all the Triceratops we’ve seen are actually teenage Torasauruses!
But since the first research coined the name of the species being Triceratops before the name of Torosaurus, the name of the species is actually Triceratops.
