A Tragic End
He kept hanging dolls. But he found no peace. Barrera died in 2001. He drowned in the same river he originally found the young girl in. Now, “locals believe that Don Julian Santana Barrera joined the other spirits of the island and that the island is charmed, not nightmarish.”
