Lemon Juice In My Hair
My mum used to put lemon juice in my hair when we were at the beach or the pool, as she’d claim it helped make our hair go fair. While the bottle of lemon juice was the preferred tool, it wasn’t unheard of her to slice a whole lemon and using her fingers as a fairly ineffective strainer to catch the pips.
To this day, I still haven’t a clear explanation as to why she was hell-bent on turning me blonde.
