I Only Made It Worse
Accidentally called a black girl by the wrong name. I hadn’t seen her or the girl I mistook her for in years. Her friend went, “Oh no, you didn’t, white boy.” And I said, “I’m not racist, I’m just an idiot. I forget white people’s names too.” So, of course, I didn’t just leave. I tried to stay and make it better. Awkward for everyone.
