Going the Extra Mile
My family and I spent Christmas in Hawaii, and on our trip back from the airport to our home, we stopped at a rest area. I’d been looking at photos from our trip on the family’s camera when it must have fallen from my lap. When we got home, I looked everywhere for it, to no avail. A few weeks go by and we get a call from a state capital police officer, saying that he had our camera. A man who was just passing through to head to another state had found it. He mailed it to the police who ran our plates from one of the pictures and found us. It was the nicest thing that a stranger had ever done. We mailed him a gift certificate.
