Red Pandas Are Not Pandas

French zoologist Frédéric Cuvier described these animals in 1825. Since then, categorizing them into a species has been tough. They look like foxes, have the faces of raccoons, but are cat-sized bears. Ultimately, red pandas are not bears, raccoons or pandas… they belong to a unique family – Ailuridae, showed DNA studies.
