Christian consulted his team and found that only one man, John, was prepared to continue the expedition with him. Knowing the cave had been sealed for thousands of years, Christian anticipated a rancid atmosphere and had packed breathing apparatus. The pair squeezed through the increasingly cramped openings. Christian had a feeling they were close to finding something. But when John stopped ahead of him, they both froze stiff. “Shh!” whispered John. They could hear something down below. And it was getting closer.
