Strange Stone Worth More Than Most People’s Homes

Red Beryl (A.K.A Red Emerald)

Credits

Exclusively mined in the Wah Wah Mountains of Utah, Red Beryl is a true rarity! For perspective, remnants of this stone were also found in New Mexico and Mexico but they were too poor quality and small to go to market.

The Utah Geological Survey even estimates that for every 150,000 gem-quality diamond, there’s only one gem-quality red beryl crystal. These stones sell up to $10,000 per carat.
