By the time 4 o’clock had rolled around, Dale’s mom was a nervous wreck. Surely something had happened? She got on the phone to the principal and explained to the startled woman that her son hadn’t come home. The principal sent out an alert on the school’s emergency chat group, describing what Dale had been wearing that day and asking everyone to keep a lookout.
