17. Independence Day
Everyone celebrates Independence Jay on July 4th, but this is not exactly when this happened. Independence Day actually took place on July 2nd when Congress voted to free the people from British rule. John Hancock signed his name on July 4th and this is why the event is celebrated on this day.
