4. The Autocorrect Problem
The Show: Kearny and Dolph were the school bullies in The Simpsons and they took a memo on a Newton device. The episode aired in 1994 and it showed that the memo that was supposed to be written “beat up Martin” got autocorrected in “eat up Martha”!
Reality: Apple’s iPhone ancestor and its handwriting recognition would go through the same issues, not to mention today’s autocorrect mess that turns sentences into the funniest and most confusing messages we’ve ever seen…
