5. Mutated Tomatoes/ToMaccoes

The Show: The episode “E-I-E-I-D’oh!” from 1999 showed Homer moving to become farmers. He uses plutonium to mutate his crops and make them grow bigger and faster, and creates a new plant that he calls “ToMacco,” which is a cross between tomatoes and tobacco.
Reality: Close to a nuclear plant in Japan, scientists found mutated vegetables, and among them, they saw huge tomatoes. An operation analyst named Rob Baur also tried to create a real tomacco after seeing the episode and it worked! The writers invited him and they tasted the tomacco!
