One of the biggest changes is the fact that millennials are no longer buying cars the way they had before. In fact, not only are they not buying cars, and as a result gas, but more and more of them are opting to not even get a driver’s license. In the past eight years there has been a 25% decrease in drivers between the ages of 18-25.
Researchers have found a variety of reasons for this sharp decline. In more urban areas, more and more people are opting to take public transportation, eliminating the need to search for parking. Another reason for the decline is because of the ever increasing popularity of ride sharing apps to get them where they are going.
